Queen candidates are Triston Wyatt, daughter of Paul & Jackie Wyatt; Tera Wistuba, daughter of Travis & Debbie Wistuba; Zetta Noll, daughter of Bryan & Meaghen Noll; and Ellie Gaschen, daughter of Jim & Susan Gaschen.
King candidates are Evan Fowler, son of Brian Fowler & Carrie Miller; Caleb Worthington, son of Joe & Alicia Worthington; Cole Burk, son of Brian & Jeanie Burk; and Karson Worthington, son of Joe & Alicia Worthington.
The crowning ceremony will take place Friday, February 11, 2022, in the JCNHS gym, at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game against Pleasant Ridge.

The JCNHS Scholars Bowl team received runner up at the 2A Regionals tournament at Maur Hill on 2/3. We will be going to the state tournament Saturday, February 12th hosted by Trego Community High School in Wakeeny, KS. Everyone is extremely excited; this is the first time since 2013 we have been back to the state competition.
Valentine’s Day is almost here! There are just two days left to get your completed order forms into either school office. Order forms are found on the school website and blank forms can be found in the high school office as well. All proceeds help the Junior class prom fund. All valentines will be delivered Monday afternoon on the 14th.
The Junior Varsity Scholars Bowl team had their last meet at Oskaloosa on January 27th. They finished the season on a high note, earning a second place win. Congrats everyone!

Congratulations to our girls basketball team who placed 2nd in the JCN Girls Mid-season Tournament. 3 JCN Girls were selected to the All-Tournament team. The team was selected by votes from coaches. Congratulations to Tera Wistuba, Claire Jobbins and Clara Johnson on being selected to the team.
Blind date with a book started Tuesday in the high school library. Eleven staff members and students chose their Valentine’s Day book date. We will have a date reveal party on the 28th.

FBLA Members had their Districts today!
January was a busy month in the high school library. Students came back from break and were met with several new books. We also have a reading challenge going on for students and staff, so far 28 challenges have been met. Every month there will be a drawing for anyone who completes a challenge. This month’s winner won a handmade mug and hot chocolate mix.
Tonight's Basketball games against McLouth have changed. Varisty girls will begin at 4:30pm followed by boys varsity. There will be NO JV games tonight. Please let others know.

First graders learned about Kansas and ended the week celebrating Kansas’ birthday with a sunflower cake. 🌻🌻
First grade enjoyed celebrating the 101st day of school with a Dalmatian day of fun. Children shared 101 Day Posters, dressed as Dalmatians, enjoyed 101 snacks, and finished the day watching the Disney classic, “101 Dalmatians”.
