The JCN Volleyball Team won both matches Tuesday with a 25-19/25-20 win against ACCHS and a 25-20/25-12 win against McLouth. The JV also won both matches in 2 games. GREAT START TO THE SEASON GIRLS.
The JCN Football Team will travel to Valley Heights this Friday. Masks will be required to enter the stadium but seating is not limited. Masks are recommended and should be worn when not able to social distance. Valley Heights is live streaming the game so it will be available online. However, you will have to purchase a monthly subscription to the company they use. Go to www.nfhsnetwork.com to subscribe and find the game.
Mrs. Deviney’s 1st graders decorated mouse ears after reading “Frederick” by Leo Lionni. 🐭 Each child wrote about how they are special, just like Frederick in the story.
Good luck to the Lady Chargers Volleyball team as they compete at McLouth. They will play the 2nd and 3rd games of the night. There are no crowd limit restrictions at McLouth, but they are requesting all who attend wear their masks.
JV FOOTBALL AGAINST PLEASANT RIDGE TONIGHT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Pleasant Ridge was unable to come at the last minute. We will look at trying to reschedule another game for JV football soon.

Happy Friday, JCN families. Thank you for your support in reopening schools at JCN and making our first two weeks successful! I hope to start your Labor Day weekend with great news. I have just received approval for our students to enjoy FREE BREAKFASTS and LUNCHES beginning on Tuesday! All enrolled students are eligible to eat breakfast and lunch free of charge. The USDA has recently released waivers allowing us to continue the summer food service programs. We will serve meals free of charge until the money runs out.... our Kansas State Department of Education is estimating this may continue through December, 2020. On Tuesday, we may need to vary our menu slightly to cover the meals for ALL children. Breakfast will include morning preschoolers. I hope this news brings relief to many of you trying to get back on your feet from the past few months. I want to give a special "shout out" to the JCN food service cooks that have done an amazing job with adapting and working tirelessly to feed our JCN students!!

Homecoming will be held on September 18th, the first home football game. Senior and parent recognition will be on September 25th. We are moving homecoming up to the first home game to give us the best chance of playing the game. Make sure you update your calendar or print another one from the website.

Pleasant Ridge High School will be limiting fans to the football game on September 4th. No one will be allowed to enter without a ticket. The limited tickets are being distributed to the football team first. Pleasant Ridge is complying with Leavenworth County's current guidelines. Please be patient with everyone as we try to get this football season started for our kids. Please call if you have questions.

MS Volleyball Special Procedures due to COVID-19:
• Spectator’s temperatures will be taken at the door.
• Spectators will be required to wear masks at all times while in JCN buildings.
• The NEKL admission price ($3 adults and $2 students) will be paid by spectators at the door.
• Spectators will be required to sit in designated seats that have been prepared to accommodate social distancing guidelines.
• We ask that fans only attend games in which their student athlete is participating
• Children will be required to remain with their family unit
• Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe and assisting us in our attempt to keep athletes in activities as long as possible!
