Nortonville Fire department and Fire Pup visited Jefferson County North Elementary school today to discuss fire safety.

Kindergarten students were excited to read about and identify the frog they caught at recess. They were sad to have to let it go back into its natural habitat at the end of day. Other students were excited to read about butterflies and the accessories they made in art class.
The JCN Chargers will face Centralia tonight at JCN. It will be a great night for football, but if you can't make the game it will be live streamed on our YouTube channel. Check out or Jefferson County North USD 339 web site for the link. It's on the front page.

We are still talking about separation techniques in chemistry, and students made Sodium Tetraborate* crystals. We decided to set up an iPad and video their growth over night using the time-lapse mode. They turned out pretty neat, and many of the students will be bringing them home to show folks. Homecoming is coming up the week of October 11th-16th. Lots of fun activities are planned throughout the week. I will post a schedule soon. Here is a picture of your Homecoming candidates. Correction to the previous post about the JV volleyball tournament this Saturday. The cost for entry is Adults-$5, Students-$3. There will be a concession available over the lunch time.

The first grade classes learned about adjectives today. They ate potato chips while writing words to describe the chips. Yum! Yum!
