Sixth-graders are exploring career options as they pertain to the content we learn in school each day. Students completed a survey indicating what they would like to do as adults. We would like to have representatives from each career field to describe the education, training, and process of becoming a successful member of that profession. Below, we have listed the careers our students are interested in pursuing. If you or someone you know would be willing to present to our students about one of the listed careers, please email either sixth-grade teacher with the perspective presenter’s information so we can arrange a time and day for them to share.

Jefferson County North is seeking patrons’ opinions about the current state of the school facilities. The district recently conducted an architectural and engineering assessment of the district’s buildings which identified repairs needed to extend the useful life of the district’s schools. Based upon those needs, the district has designed a survey allowing patrons to help prioritize projects for completion in the future. While the district levies taxes to help with smaller maintenance needs, a bond election would likely be necessary to finance more extensive facility repairs and improvements.
The survey asks patrons’ opinions regarding a list of specific facilities projects to allow patrons to weigh-in on each. Questions are also designed to gauge taxpayers’ willingness to support a bond election. The survey allows patrons to write in their own projects for the board’s consideration. Survey results will help shape future board discussions and decisions regarding next steps with facilities improvements.
Registered voters should have received a copy of the survey by mail; however, respondents are encouraged to use the online survey link rather than using the paper-pencil form if possible. The paper-pencil form has been provided for those patrons who do not have access to the internet or are not comfortable with completing a survey on-line. All patrons, including those who are not registered voters, can provide their input through the on-line survey link. Each person of voting age should complete his/her own survey.
Surveys should be completed on-line, returned by mail, or dropped off at a school or district office by January 12. Patrons are asked to complete the survey only once. The survey can be accessed at https://forms.gle/AHjWvLpNWYqEkrJ48
