Mrs. Deviney's 1st grade has been reading books by children's author, Leo Lionni. The class recently read his book, "Frederick". The story is about a mouse family as they prepare for the upcoming winter season. Frederick has a special gift he gives his family. The class enjoyed making mouse ears, like Frederick.

Did you know JCNHS has FIVE students in the Jefferson County Fire Department High School Program? It's true!
As these students learn the craft of emergency response and fighting fire, they are also learning the importance of respectable character and school. As a requirement of the department, these students are expected to behave and stay on top of their studies. #JCNexcellence

The middle school book club is reading Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, one of Mrs. Courtney's favorite books. Today we had star shaped sugar cookies made by high school teacher Ms. Halling and they were delicious! If you have a student in book club ask them about our current read.
