Last Thursday, Ms. Moore's first grade started a complete Unit on Life Cycles. Students have set up the butterfly habitat. They have seen and documented the egg and larva stages of, and are super excited to see, the chrysalis and adult stages to come in the next few weeks. As of Friday, 20 out of 24 larva had started the pupa stage. On Friday, students set up the ladybug habitat. As of Friday all the eggs had hatched into larva. Students , again, are so excited to see and document the complete metamorphosis process of ladybugs. These activities integrate across all domains: science, math, social studies and all eight strands of Scarborough's reading rope. Also included in this unit, I have integrated music with Jack Hartmann and art, coloring and making bracelets.

This week’s highlight goes out to the many community members, parents, and students who generously gave up their Saturday morning to work on the district stadium bleachers. Please know that your time, effort, and teamwork are truly appreciated. The JCN community's willingness to come together for a common goal not only helps ensure our facilities are safe and welcoming but also reflects the strong community spirit that makes JCN special. Thank you for showing your #JCNexcellence!
The HS Cheer team is selling blankets to help fundraise for their upcoming competition in November! These blankets are thick and would be great for those cold weather games! Please fill out the form using the link below or contact Coach Ostrander or Coach Sumpter!
