The National Honor Society Induction ceremony has a time change. it will start at 6:30pm on Oct. 18th in the HS commons.

Middle School Girls Basketball season is already underway. The Girls have been working hard and getting better every day. Our first game is Monday October 18 @ 4:30 in Nortonville. Plan to come watch this fun group.

We have a lot going on in the high school library, and have had a lot of students visit. The fall maker station is up and going, this month’s project is leaf zentangle. The cold case mystery has also started so far there are four teams trying to solve the case.

JCN HS students are having fun with their spirit week. Here are some of the seniors wearing their "WALKING YEARBOOKS". Our Community Pep Rally is Friday 2:15 downtown Winchester. Come join the EMS and HS students.



In all of my classes, one of my major goals is for the students to be active. Being “active” is a life goal, and being active supports both physical and mental well-being. Today, my Freshman PE class played cornhole. You have probably played this game at a party, so good for you “staying active”! One of the sets was made as a Senior Product (thanks to Trenton F. ’21).




Spirit Week Oct. 11-15

Nortonville Fire department and Fire Pup visited Jefferson County North Elementary school today to discuss fire safety.





The high school library is getting ready for All Hallows’ Read, students are busy helping Mrs. Courtney make some spooky decor. We are featuring mystery, horror, and thrillers this month!

Kindergarten students were excited to read about and identify the frog they caught at recess. They were sad to have to let it go back into its natural habitat at the end of day. Other students were excited to read about butterflies and the accessories they made in art class.

The JCN Chargers will face Centralia tonight at JCN. It will be a great night for football, but if you can't make the game it will be live streamed on our YouTube channel. Check out or Jefferson County North USD 339 web site for the link. It's on the front page.

We are still talking about separation techniques in chemistry, and students made Sodium Tetraborate* crystals. We decided to set up an iPad and video their growth over night using the time-lapse mode. They turned out pretty neat, and many of the students will be bringing them home to show folks.
