The high school cross country team is headed to state! On their way out of town they stopped at the EMS and we gave them a BIG send off! Good luck, Chargers!💚

Today, the JCN Cross Country team traveled to Council Grove for the regional meet. The team competed very well, with Bailey Jenkins placing 10th overall and qualifying for state. The boys team placed 2nd overall, qualifying as a team for state. The boys team was led by Lucas Meredith (2nd) Isaac Kane (3rd). Thank you to all who supported us this season.

The theatre department is looking for some matte black graduation robes to use for our upcoming production. We would need about 5-7 of them. If you or someone you know has a matte black graduation robe that we could borrow, please have them contact Mrs. Bernick at pbernick@usd339.net.
Thank you!!
After reading "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allen Poe, the 9th graders are now creating their own Coat of Arms. Each student represents themselves and their families with different colors, symbols, and animals. This practice is known as Heraldry; a practice as old as The Middle Ages. It's so interesting to see them work! Nice job, Freshmen.

These are the finished quilt squares made by one of the fifth grade classes. Each student made a small square with their name, positive personality traits, and things they love to do and excel at. We are all unique and together we make something beautiful!

Mrs. Gaschen's class visited the library today. We read a book about beautiful fall sunsets and crunchy fall leaves. After we read we made fall trees. They turned out beautifully!

What is better than reading a great book? Having cookies and milk with a great book. Today in the high school library we finished The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen. A Schneider Family Award Winning Book, and highly recommended to all ages.
Next week we will start See You in the Cosmos by Jack Chong.

Biology students are slowly but surely going over Mitosis and cellular division! Looking forward to seeing their own animations coming up soon!
