The NEKL (NorthEast Kansas League) has expanded to include Riverside and Troy. Our league, starting next year, will have 11 schools. We are excited about including our neighboring schools. The press release is in the images.

Football Districts were assigned this week by KSHSAA. In 24-25 and 25-26 JCN will be in a 6-team 2A football district with the following schools: Pleasant Ridge, Jackson Heights, McLouth, Onaga, Valley Falls. These district assignments begin next year.
This week is National 4-H week. Some of our JCN 4-H members brought in some projects to display in the library. We read a book about going to a county fair then looked at the projects. Thank you for sharing your projects with us!

Yesterday, our Middle School Cross Country team traveled to Jackson Heights for the final meet of the season, NEKL. While it was warm and windy, the kids ran well. Individual medalists were Rowan Robey (4), Lucy Noll (6), Tucker Edmonds (2), and Mathias Domann (6). The girls team were also League Runners-up, bringing home team medals, and the boys team were NEKL Champions, bringing home medals and a plaque. Congratulations to both teams on a very successful season. A thank you to all parents and teachers who supported these kids and made this season a success, it would not have been possible without you.

On Saturday, the JCN High School Cross Country team traveled to Centralia Lake for a meet. While it was warm and windy, several PR's were set, and the kids competed well. Individual medalists include Bailey Jenkins (15), Ivy Fujibayashi (25), Lucas Meredith (3), Isaac Kane (4), Lane Edmonds (15), and Max Kane (22). The boys team also placed 2nd in the meet, narrowly beating out a tough Axtell team and losing to a strong Nemaha Central group. Overall, a good day for a meet with plenty of medals to go around.

PARENTS: The EMS bus that transports to the Cummins area will not leave the EMS until 4 p.m. or a little later!
The final Cross Country meet for the middle school is in the books: The middle school boys are NEKL champions!! 🙌 The all-league guys were Tucker Edmonds - 2nd place and Mathias Domann - 6th place. Amanda and Corie stepped up when we were short on subs and worked as a team to make sure all classes were covered with quality instruction! They were also given a pack of "Extra" gum to show them that I am EXTRA grateful for them! Thank you, ladies! Your #JCNExcellence is so greatly appreciated!
